Welcome to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) page, your gateway to Canadian permanent residency. The CEC is designed for individuals who have already established themselves as skilled workers or international graduates in Canada. By recognizing the value of your Canadian work experience, the CEC provides a fast-track option for achieving permanent residency.
To be eligible for the CEC, you must have at least 12 months of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years. This experience should be acquired with the proper authorization and meet the requirements of the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC). Please note that work experience gained through self-employment or during full-time studies, such as co-op work terms, does not count under the CEC.
Since January 1, 2015, the CEC is part of the Express Entry system, which uses an invitation-based mechanism. This means that you must receive an invitation before applying. However, even if you are no longer in Canada, you can still apply for the CEC as long as you submit your application within three years of leaving your job in Canada.
